D DAY WEY I NO GO EVER FORGET ( END FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION ) 2

I still dey feel pain for my vagina, as I tell mumcy say I still dey feel pain especially wen I wan pee mumcy con explain give me say e go stop small small as I dey grow nd na tradition, say e go make my agemate look me with respect, I happy say if I dey wake for villa I up dey get the respect I suppose get but the feeling con change wen I start to dey see period I con dey get one kind yeye flow wey me no even understand but life continues sha.

REASON why dem dey practice am 
1. For cleanliness: Dem say if dem cut her external genitals say she go dey clean nd e dey promote good hygiene. 
2. For acceptability among her community:  Dey say if she no cut am say she no fit follo her mate waka nd she no fit perform any traditional rite for her community. 
3. For marriageability: If she no dey cut she no fit marry anyone in her community, she no fit marry anyone.
4. For cultural nd religious requirement: Once you dey cut if you commot from your community anybody wey see u go know where you come from. Na also an act of initiation into womanhood.
5. For fertility nd child survial: Dey say e dey promote fertility nd pikin make e dey alive, dey say if the child's head touches the woman's clitoris the child is believed to die. 

Effect:
1. Trauma
2. Irregular menstrual flow
3. Pain during sex
Sometimes death

As she talk finish everybody con dey look, Chioma just shout JESUS! so some people still dey do dis kind thing.
